deliciously creative cakes

"Ace of Cakes" is a show about a bakery in Baltimore, MD called Charm City Cakes. They make the most PHENOMENAL cakes and I'm bumming that we are across the nation from one another. Here are some of my favorites.

Minimum cake order: $1000

See the Hogwarts one? Quidditch? Ritalin!?!?!

rescued: wet, beautiful, handsome male.....

Yesterday I remembered there was a living animal trapped in Heather's room. She hasn't been home for weeks so I braced myself for a deadly sight.

Low and behold, her Chinese Fighter Fish was alive and kicking. So I snuck in there like a thief in the night and stole the poor guy.

I found a beautiful vase that suited his technicolor scales better. Fed him a double-dose of his food. And relocated him up to my room.

He shall be called Frenchie. He is beautiful, neglected, and needs a home. I'm really not a fish girl but I refuse to flush him down the toilet, or leave him in Heather's "deserted dungeon", or toss him in the depths of soon-to-be-dry Snail Lake.

You can have him, for free, email me.

(I'm serious!)

Lake Delton = Snail Lake in 2 years???

These are images of Lake Delton in Wisconsin Dells.... this could be what Snail Lake looks like in 2 years. They aren't going to pump into it, and there sure isn't enough rain these days to lift the water level to average... what would we do with a bunch of docks facing in a sand pit?... yikes.

crazy kids....

You know how parents are always telling their kids "No running in the house?"

How in the world does this happen!?!?!?!?!?

reading corner

There are only 5 days until Breaking Dawn is released and I've just started a new read. "Smart Women Finish Rich" by David Bach. I believe it is similar to the other great books like "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" and "The Millionaire Next Door", only better because it's geared towards women.

Wonder if there is anyone else I know whose read this...

Kudos to the Shoreview Library for having inspirational, amazing books on their shelves 24/7.

breakfast

One Kashi waffles. Top with blueberries, slivered almonds, drizzle of agave nectar.

breakfast of champions

The Torchlight 5K went well tonight. K and I finished with a time of 30:05. I'm happy with that for my very first 5K race. There were thousands of people running with us and it's an indescribable feeling to be flying through downtown amongst a throng of other healthy runners. I can't help but think a good reason for the energy is the delicious breakfast I made this morning.

Two Kashi blueberry waffles with sliced strawberries, blueberries, and banana. Peanut butter spread on top. Drizzled with agave nectar.

The breakfast of champions.

Gossip Girl marketing

Flipped through any magazines recently? You might have seen the advertisements and marketing for Gossip Girls' new season coming up in September. Despite the fact that these ads are causing quite a heated controversy... I'm falling head over Jimmy Choos for the start of yet another fabulously-gossipy adventure. Although, Serena does look a little sleepy in the third ad... she might want to lay off the Zoloft.

Not only does the music played on each episode kick ass... but the outfits worn by Blair and Chuck are so posh... they remind me of M. I can't help but wish I had an bottomless iTunes account to download hits such as "Come Home" - OneRepublic, "Do You Wanna" - The Kooks, and "Time to Pretend" - MGMT

I'm pretty sure we all fell in love with the Alex Woo Little Letter B Necklace worn by Blair in Episode 5. Want one?

Chuck Bass is the only one that can pull off the BOSS Black "Einstein Sigma" Stripe Suit with no problems. Think your man can pull this off? I dare him.

i thought i had it right...

this video comes in at a close second for cutest Tim McGraw & Faith Hill music video. an old fashioned mic, candles surrounding them in a room similar to your grandmothers with a fireplace nearby.

my favorite part:

"I wanna wrap the moon around us, lay beside you skin on skin
Make love til the sun comes up, til the sun goes down again
Cause I need you...."

Ever hear the story about how Faith Hill yelled at a fan for touching Tim?

in need of a love song?

nothing beats this song. nothing beats Faith Hill and Tim McGraw being a great couple. nothing beats shooting the video in Europe, could they pick a more romantic location? sitting in the park with umbrellas, stolling along the Thames river, lounging at a secluded cafe down a cobblestone alley.......

here's my favorite part:

"I'm so in love with you
Look in my eyes
Let's get lost tonight
In each other...."

Torchlight 5K

K and I are running the Life Time Fitness Torchlight 5K tomorrow evening. It's the kickoff event for the Torchlight Parade of the Aquatennial downtown. It starts at the Basilica of St. Mary and we end somewhere around Nicollet Island for the post-race party. Come and join us! Wanna race?

lucky to have one of these

to be the middle child is one of a kind... although i do feel closer to S.... and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that!

amazing dinner

Jealous? Tear up fresh romaine. Cut up red onion. Slice up strawberries. Cut up grilled chicken. Sprinkle sliced almonds. Enjoy.

she is just beautiful

i'm not sure when i first starting enjoying the music of Christina Aguilera. summer of 2005 driving around with the Fab5? blasting it on the way to Bunker Hills for some wave-pool action... who knows. she is timeless, and I know you agree with me C.

lion cubs

Three white lion cubs play at a wildlife zoo in Schloss-Holte Stukenbrock on July 14. Both of the park's two rare white lionesses gave birth simultaneously to seven cubs on June 30. Three of the cubs are being handfed after their mother rejected them. Now this is the type of animal you should try and get your hands on M and R.

unleash your inner pocahontas with Windy Freda

Believe it or not, I do have American Indian blood running through my veins. What better way to showcase my heritage than with a Windy Freda Pre-Colonialism-inspired headbands. They're old-fashioned and contemporary all wrapped into one unbelievably eye-catching item. Someone needs to have a cowboys and indians party, pronto, so we can try one of these beauties out. The debut collection was inspired by 1940s movies, 1970s music, and Native America.
Location: Windy Freda
Price: $$$

Breaking Dawn- this one's for C!

words i can relate to

because of the vast vocabulary we have to work with these days... here are some new words we might find useful in everyday conversations.

beighborhood
n. Area populated by good-looking people. (“Let’s go downtown. Fifth Street has turned into a total beighborhood.”)

hobeau
n. A less-than-hygienic boyfriend. (“Better open the window. Here come Gloria and her hobeau.”)

staremaster
n. Gym dandies who constantly check themselves out in the mirror. (“If that staremaster touches his pecs one more time …”)

condamn
n. When your toilet gets clogged because you tried to flush a condom.

whor d'oeuvre
n. A girl who puts out before dinner.

drimming
v. Drunk instant-messaging.

textual frustration
n. A late-night text exchange that fails to result in an old-fashioned hookup (why does this remind me of M? :)

love to all
