grooms dinner invites

a small part of today was spent designing an invite for R's brother's grooms dinner in july.  here are the three samples i threw together. they decided to go with the second one.  it is unreal how much fun i have doing this... i think i might pursue it as a side business in addition to the 34,657 other things im doing on a daily basis

i was fortunate to have three workouts today!  @ the gym solo,  rollerblading w/sarah, walking w/mom.  how lucky am i to live in such a beautiful community? (i sound like a commercial for this town...)

oh, did i mention, R is so on fire with poker? i don't condone it, but im not complaining about the extra $6000 in cash he's rolling in.... milan anyone?  i know you're down C.

photography art with beau

i was playing 'assistant photographer' yesterday with L and the last session of the day was this totally laid-back guy, beau.  he brought in his hockey equipment and i had this fabulous idea of making an old-time/antique image with him and his hockey stick, no shirt, with the field as a background... it turned out pretty sweet.  i think i'll be using this on our next marketing piece

time to make R play model and recreate this image for my own secret stash :)

beautiful summer day

today was somewhat surreal.  i woke up. went to the gym and surprisingly saw N after quite a long time. have a little history with him, so we'll have to catch up soon since our lives have changed tenfold since that summer.  before i went in the studio, i just had to spend some time outside.  i had a quick rollerblading sess and basically that was the start to this amazing summer day.

studio work gave me the opportunity to be creative and use some graphic design skills to create a few cool new products for us.  then i had the best idea i've had in awhile.... the other day we bought one bag of limes, one bag of lemons, and one bag of oranges from costco.  who knew what we thought we were going to do with all of that fruit, but i found a solution.

behold the most delicious flavored water known to shoreview, minnesota.  the pitcher looks like a piece of art. it's almost too gorgeous to drink... almost.  add into the mix a little orange sherbet that R brought over during a study session... and we are in summer heaven.  

as i sip this delectable beverage, i would like to give a toast to all of my girls that have made every one of the last three summers an absolute blast.... K, C, R, and M, i cannot for wait what the future has in store for each of us.

today was the start to a glorious summer.  

the first summer of my post-college life.

well. my life is so busy right now. 

my upcoming graduation from St. Thomas is my valid excuse 

for not updating recently.

BUT, Four Paws Galleria (see above marketing pieces i designed) did take 4th place out of

45 teams for our Business Plan Competition!!!!!

a big shout-out thanks to my girls Sarah and Christine for totally rocking each round of presentations.... we did better than we thought we would and im SO PROUD of all the hard work we put into this!  we just might have to make this a business and prove those 12 judges that YES.... a 3071% return on their investment is do-able... ;)

simple satisfaction

after working out and taking oliver on a walk. i jumped in the shower real quick. upon coming back downstairs i found oliver staring longingly out the window at this sheepskin on the deck.  i hooked him up to his leash and opened the door.

he waddled out and plopped down on the sheepskin.

its been 20 minutes and he's still basking in the sunlight.

this is what i call simple satisfaction.
